Passion Breathes Life into Content: A Tribute to a Fallen Artist

Are you passionate about your content?

You may like or even love to create content, but can you honestly say that you are passionate about it? “Passion” is defined as “a strong liking, desire for or devotion to” something or someone. Can you say that you have those feelings about your work?

When you think of the most successful content creators and marketers, passion is a driving force for their success whether they realize it or not. Whether they are passionate about the actual content itself or the people they engage with it through it, there is always a strong emotional connection playing an integral role behind the scenes.

“You have to be burning with an idea or a problem or a wrong that you want to right. If you’re not passionate enough from the start, you’ll never stick it out.” – Steve Jobs

Passion is what allows you to keep creating and marketing content even when it seems as if no one is reading it. When you first start out and get the wheels spinning on building your online presence, it may seem as if you are hardly moving at all. It is true that you may not generate very many views, subscribers or much revenue at all. However, it is imperative to remember that most success stories start the same way.

It is the passion that keeps those wheels turning and prevents the person behind the wheel from pulling over. You may not strike a chord with your target audience right away, but it is only a mater of time before you do. The authenticity and artistry of your work will essentially create a chain reaction that will eventually hit its mark. Keep in mind that every viral video, blog post or published content started with the same number of views/reads: Zero.

“If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins.” – Benjamin Franklin

It is still important to remember that passion is not the only piece of the puzzle to place in the picture (Try to say that 5 times fast!) You also need to have a proper balance between emotion and logic. Studying the craft of content creation and polishing your skills to enhance the quality of your work is essential.

Think about any other type of artist – such as a painter or sculptor. Passion may compel them to pick up their tools, but it is the reason, logic, understanding and skill that help them to create their artwork. The same principle applies to your work as a content creator. If you do not take the time to learn the craft and enhance your skills and understanding of the industry, then there is very little you will be able to accomplish when you use your own tools.

“There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than one you are capable of living.” – Nelson Mandela

It is an amazing experience to be able to read the work of a truly passionate writer – especially when you consider its rarity and value. The same can be said about how it feels to work with and learn from someone who is truly passionate about content.

We are privileged to say that our team here at Iris Content was built on that passion primarily because of our co-founder Diane Trim. Diane was an amazing woman who loved her work and was determined to work behind the scenes to breathe life into our company.

She had a strong desire for and devotion to her work, because she knew the value of high-quality content and the lasting impact it can have not just on the people who create it but the people for which it is created.

She passed away last week, and we feel the tragic impact of losing her every single day. Diane raised the bar of what we should expect from ourselves both personally and professionally – allowing us to truly understand the power of passion.

To honor Diane’s legacy, we are determined to keep the wheels of passion spinning with every single project that we complete and form of content that we create. That is what she would want and what our clients deserve.

We encourage everyone who reads this to allow passion to drive you in life – personally and professionally. Follow Diane Trim’s example, find what you are passionate about in life and figure out how to share it with the world. You will be surprised to see just how much doing so will change your life and impact the lives of so many others.

Thank you for everything, Diane! Your presence is still felt through the passion that you left behind.
